STEP UP, PLUG IN, THROW DOWN!
Think your band has what it takes to own the stage? The Sugarshack Battle of the Bands is calling all local and regional acts to step up, plug in, and throw down for the ultimate title.
Every Tuesday night in September, five bands will go head-to-head in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. One band advances each week, battling their way to the semi final first week of October, and the final round second tuesday in October—where only one band will be crowned champion.
This is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of live music, community, and the incredible talent throughout our state.
What's up for grabs?
Who Can Enter?
Bands must be from the state of Florida! All ages are welcome. Bands must be a duo or more but no more than 6 band members.
(contestants under 18 must provide signed parental consent).
Contest Rules:
- Bands are required to play a 3 song set, 15 minutes max - (2 covers + 1 original)
- No backing tracks allowed
- 4 vocals max
- Full backline will be provided and required to use. (Drums, Guitar Amps, Bass Amp)
- 15 minute change over per band
Competition Schedule:
Prelims - 5 different bands will battle it out every Tuesday for the month of September. Semi's and Finals will be held in October. One band will advance every week in September. Competition starts at 6:00 pm.
Semi-Finals - October 7
• 5 preliminary round finalists battle it out. Top 2 bands advance to final round.
Final Round - October 14
• Top 2 bands go head to head playing 30 minute sets each. Coin toss will determine who goes first. One champion takes it all!
